Second Avengers Postscript Scene Has Started Playing ' And Is Pay Off, Not Set Up

We've already discussed the surprises and sneaky wordplay of the first Avengers postscript scene, but being in the UK, we've been denied ' so far ' screenings of the second. It has been added onto prints in the US already, and it seems a reasonable guess that it will be playing around the world from this Friday when the film opens Stateside.

It's hard to discuss the scene without taking all of the air out of it. I'd suggest you wait and see it in context. Suffice to say, it's a neat idea and contrary to expectation that it might be used to set up an upcoming Marvel movie ' Ant Man, say, or Iron Man 3 ' it actually serves to pay off something from earlier in The Avengers.

That's confirmed, by the way. 100%.

And, every bit as spoilery, I suppose, is the moment from earlier in the film that this new button scene pays off. But you probably don't want to click on that either.

I know you'll want to discuss this in the forum, and the reason why the scene might not quite add up, but please try not to spoil anything.

Avengers Vs X-Men #3 In Augmented Reality

That's the thing about the new Marvel AR system. Even if you don't like the comic you've bought, you can have plenty of time messing around with the Augmented Reality.

So this issue, with Hope on the run, Rachel being used to hunt her, as the cover shows, Captain America and Wolverine getting all down and dirty with it together, with a bit of a JJ Abrams Star Trek nod at the end, if none of that floats your boat, there are things to play with.

There's still the same video on the front cover playing off of anything with that AVX logo, it seems, and a bunch of panels that you can basically peel back to their pencils'

There's also Ed Brubaker talking us through the Captain America/Wolverine fight and how the people involved in that tussle changed a number of times as they suddenly weren't available'

And then a medical expert taking us through the damage the impact of that fight would have had on Wolverine. With a Doop poster in the background' it's basically Man Of Adamantium, Woman Of Orthopaedic Surgeon.

 

 

Vin Diesel Hints At Possible Sequels To Follow Riddick Returns

Here's an interesting bit of news straight from the horse's mouth. Actor, producer, director, writer and light bulb telemarketer Vin Diesel likes to reach out to his fans via Facebook ' mainly with inspirational photoshopped images of himself like the one pictured ' and on Monday he posted this update with regards to the release schedule for the next sequel.

The studio said the earliest they could release the new 'Riddick' is in January' was hoping for 2012' but, it's on the horizon.

P.s. I think they are liking what they are seeing' haha, cause they asked when both Underverse and Furya would be ready to make and release' haha' now that's a ways in the future but it is exciting.

Does this mean a January 2013 release date? Probably not, but at least that gives us one half of an approximate release period. Depending on who you believe, the sequel will either be called Riddick Returns or The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking. If I had to pick, I'd go for the former, if only because the latter makes me want to bang my head against something until my brain changes the subject.

The more interesting part of this update is the hint at two possible further sequels: Underverse (named after some alternate dimension in the Chronicles universe where death doesn't exist) and Furya (named after the race of warriors from which Riddick is descended). Presumably the studio he is referring to is Universal, but it's difficult to say whether they're serious about securing distribution rights for the potential future sequels or whether they were just gathering information.

Juan of the Dead opens in the UK on May 4th ' that's this Friday. Not much of a warning, I know, but it appears to have only been locked in for a few days now.
