Alejandro Jodorowsky Has Finished The Dance Of Reality, His First Film In Over A Decade

Alejandro Jodorowsky's latest film finished production yesterday.

By the time The Dance of Reality has been edited and is playing in cinemas, it will be at least twenty three years since the release of The Rainbow Thief, the last film he directed, and twenty four since the release of Santa Sangre.

Twenty three years is easily the longest break in Jodorowsky's career, though he has certainly managed a couple of other long pauses.

Along the way there were several false starts, most famously a possible collaboration with Marilyn Manson and David Lynch on the green-screen picture King Shot. But it's the autobiographical Dance that finally went before cameras, thanks in no small part to crowd funding.

There's not a lot of info about the film widely known as yet, and certainly no images, but we do know that it's been adapted from the director's autobiography and filmed in his home town of Tocopilia. Jodorowsky's son Adan plays his father in the film.

Hopefully we'll be seeing some footage soon. It's good to know this is coming.
