The organisers of the Film 4 Frightfest have just unveiled a huge, huge program for this year's festival and I'm pretty much blown away by how many films they've secured, and how many of them are really exciting prospects. There's loads of premieres too, alongside the typical roster of guests, Q&As and other larking about.
But the main reason I'm excited is because it's Frightfest. I've never been to another festival with such a superb atmosphere, where the excitement is palpable, and where big surprises can happen at any moment. It has never disappointed.
For the first time, there are to be three screens this year. There's the main festival screen, the 'slightly riskier, edgier' discovery screen and something they're calling the rediscovery screen which is showcasing older films, restorations and hits of festivals past. They've never had anything like this number of films before. It's a new Frightfest record.
Here are the listings for each screen.
